Works cited in MLA
Why I chose this artifact
In writing several essays and using sources to support my argument, I learned to cite them correctly using MLA style. When I first started the English 1A course MLA was completely new to me and as I have mentioned earlier the more I used MLA, the better I became at it.
To the left you will see an image of the works cited page from my week 3 Reflection Essay. At first I had the heading underlined and towards the left. MLA is very specific. At first I was frustrated with how immaculate it had to be but then it won me over in its value. Now I do not have to wonder how I should arrange a heading or indent a paragraph to best make my material available for the reader because it has already been decided in MLA. In our course we use the MLA tab of A Writer's Reference by Diana Hacker to learn about MLA style. Another great tool to learn about MLA style is the Purdue OWL website. SLO 4: Document sources (print, electronic, and other) in MLA style
My understanding:
Gain knowledge of MLA style and use it to perfectly cite sources relevant to my text.
