Peer Editing Essays
Through Peer editing essays from my class mates I learned to revise text. Please find my suggestions to e peer's essyay in week 3. This was a great learning tool because when you edit someone elses text it really makes you think about how to correctly execute the craft. After revising my peer's essay I recieved her revision of my essay. It made me aware of so many things that I was blind to. The next week when I composed my essay I thought about all the pointers she had given me the week before and made sure to check for these mistakes before I turned in my work,
Free writing
Why I chose this artifact
Through the weeks of my course I have learned to use free writing to gather my ideas and center on a subject. At first I struggled with finding the right "tempo". This might sound silly but at first I wrote too fast and did not gather my thoughts properly. Then I wrote a bit too slow and edited myself too much as I was writing. Once I found the right tempo the words seemed to flow easily and my ideas emerged on the page!
Especially in week four of my six week course did I feel that my freewriting related to the subject of the weekly writing assignment and I was able to use a piece of the text in my essay. Please see the picture to the left to check out my free writing.

My understanding:
I should be able to go through the process of forming an essay effectively by using known methods that are beneficial to the writing process. These include thinking about the subject before I start writing, composing a coherent essay, and revising the essay.
